Starting at the beginning of the week we went on exchanges in Kirkaldy. I was with Elder Grabbe for the day. He is a cool guy guy, he's Danish which is pretty neat. Overall the exchange was pretty good. We were able to get to know each other a bit better and be able to set up his area with some appointments for next week which was really fun. Then towards the end of the night we met up with Elder Gunson and Cosmas and went to go get fish and chips together. Afterwards Gunson and I gathered our things and left back to our area.
Thursday, we went up to Aberdeen for Scotland North Conference which was probably the highlight of the week. There was a lot of really good instruction about the power of the Book of Mormon. My favourite thing mentioned was a comment from Elder Grant about a scripture in The Book of Mormon where is mentions "his justice and her mercy". I'm not able to explain it as well as he did but the reason why I found it so interesting is because it talks about how women are able to love people on a different level than other people are able to understand. For example Lizzy (my sister) and I used to butt heads all of the time which would logically mean she wouldn't like me at all. In fact she would probably hate me. Somehow though, she and most women are able to have that deep amount of love for someone always. I thought it was a good thing that was mentioned there. It made me think a lot about how Christ has an unimaginable love for us. Which brings me to this scripture mentioned in Moroni.
I read this scripture this week and I really liked it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
Have a good week!
